THE LOW BUDGETS – "Aim Low Get High" CD €9,00 Chris Peelout formed THE LOW BUDGETS in Philadelphia in early 2000. He was interested in having an organ driven punk band in the Mummies/Kinks style. He recruited his pal, ex-Dead Milkmen, Joe Jack Talcum to play the organ, Dandrew for the bass and Steve Please for the drums. They hit it off right away and instantly gained a local following for their goofy, danceable punk.

"The songs from "The Old Country" I recorded in my spare bedroom here in Phoenix, with Gary Kotula playin' stand-up bass, Jayson James playin' the fiddle, and my buddy Jimmy Moore on the electric guitar. This set includes my version of the traditional "Orange Blossom Special", an old tune that's been covered by many greats; Johnny Cash and The Stanley Brothers, among many others. Check out the Stanley version if you get the chance... "The Rainmaker" was written by Vickery/Friend/Roberts and was recorded by Hank Williams, Jr. and released on a record called "Ballads Of The Hills and Plains" in 1965, the year I was born... "Long Black Veil" was originally released in '59 by Lefty Frizzell. It was written by Wilkin / Dill, and has become a country classic thanks to versions by Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan..." / Chip Hanna
